Bears Mill Solo Show Review:

New Installation Arrowhead Series debuted at the Bears Mill:

This series of barn siding shadow boxes with hand made replica arrowheads affixed to archival reeves paper

was just one part of the solo show Kymberlee had on display at the Bears Mill throughout the month of May, 2007.

These works sold out durring the Artist Reception held on May 4th.

Kymberlee also featured a limited edition of hand-made jewelry during the show.  The works all had a hand carved piece of wood featured in the design. This wooden mediallion was to represent the round shaping of the griding wheels that the Mill embodies.  The use of wood to mimic the Mill itself, erected by hand with wooden boards, stairsways and benches.

The final addition to the show was a series of Conte Pencil drawings of Mills.  These works were created with the traditional structural drawing technique of utilizing a T-Square and triangle to draw precise lines of perspective.  The drawings were followed by a series of abstract pastel drawings that featured various earthen hues of canyons reds, rich soil browns and touches of orange, lemons and radiant reds.  The works were created after the artist took walks through the woods and tried to capture the feelings and lighting situations she encountered.  Across from these pieces were viberant, lush wildflower photographs (shown on right side of image above)  These works were captured with the artists digital camera, all upclose images of the flowers in bloom.  Several depict small bugs and beetles crawling delicately across the petals.  The large work in the middle of the display was a collage piece of a Tiger Lilly. Here Kymberlee used several prints of the Tiger Lilly, cut them into various sizes and shapes then reassembled them into one unique photography collage!

Fine Art Exhibit by Zanesfield Artist

Artist Kymberlee Stockmaster-Wood of Zanesfiled, Ohio is exhibiting her most recent collection of modern drawings “Journey” at Mt. Carmel in Bexely.  This show adorns the administrative halls from Wednesday December 20th through Friday January 19th. Works will be available for purchase during this time.

Kymberlee is exhibiting her unique pastel drawings which are rich in color and tones.  Lavishly rendered on archival paper, surrounded by a stark white mat and framed with deep mahogany or black wooden frames.  Each piece is distinct and conveys movement through spontaneous lines of varied thickness and

density.  “I strive for a balance of form, color harmony and interesting mark making.” Says Kymberlee “Color is an integral part to my pieces, it excites our visual senses and electrifies the room in which it hangs.  I build layers of color on top one another, some more opaque than others.  This process allows me to create an astounding depth and journey of discover within each original piece.”

Kymberlee is a 2003 graduate from the Columbus College of Art and Design, a working studio artist, an art instructor at the Dublin Community Recreation Center, and owner of both; Invision Design Co. and Kymberlee Design.
